The major industry achievement “FedEx builds an intercontinental transit center in Shanghai” was released at the opening ceremony of the 2024 North Bund International Shipping Forum. Shanghai Municipal Transportation Commission, Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, Shanghai Airport (Group) Co., Ltd. and FedEx (China) Co., Ltd. will deepen communication and cooperation, establish a long-term strategic partnership, and support FedEx to upgrade the Pudong International Express and Freight Center to an intercontinental transit center, expand transit business, enrich routes and flights, and improve customs clearance efficiency.
This move will surely promote the construction of green and safe airports in a coordinated manner, further enhance Shanghai’s status as an international aviation hub, effectively support Chinese companies to efficiently connect to the global market, and help promote the growth of import and export trade.
